How My Journey Began

Before becoming a matchmaker, I worked in upper management at a Fortune 500 company. In December 2006, I made a decision that changed the course of my life. I stepped away from corporate leadership and began exploring the idea of starting a dating company.

At the time, I spent countless hours researching, reading books about entrepreneurs, and studying the dating industry. I even applied for positions at established dating companies, hoping to learn from within. When those opportunities didn’t materialize, I asked myself a different question:

Why work for someone else when I could build something of my own?

In 2007, I started my matchmaking company at my kitchen table in Los Angeles. It was a humble beginning, but it was fueled by curiosity, determination, and a genuine desire to help people find meaningful relationships.

I’ve always enjoyed connecting with others, listening to their stories, and understanding what truly matters to them. That natural inclination became the foundation of my work. Over time, I noticed an increasing number of men reaching out with a very specific request: they wanted to meet Asian women who shared their values, cultural appreciation, and long-term relationship goals.

That demand helped shape the direction of my business.

As the years passed, I developed a clear focus, serving men of all backgrounds across Los Angeles and throughout the United States who are seeking meaningful relationships with Asian women.

Starting a company, especially one centered on relationships, is never without challenges.

Like most entrepreneurs, I learned through experience, persistence, and sometimes trial and error. In the early years, I experimented with different marketing channels, partnerships, and strategies. Some worked well. Others did not.

One of the most valuable lessons I learned was the importance of protecting the integrity of the brand. Not every opportunity is the right opportunity. There were moments when I had to politely decline partnerships or events that didn’t align with our values or long-term vision.
